Sauron's Tower was brought to my attention by a local I met on top of the Eildon peak. It's seven miles away, so it must be worth visiting if you can see it at that distance. On the map it's known as "Wellington Monument". It's a bizarre tower on a hill and it isn't very visitor friendly: I had to trek over a field of corn and through a small copse to reach it. So, we have a lighthouse on top of a hill in the Borders. Okay. Well, I wasn't overwhelmed by it, and moved swiftly on to the next thing.
